Locho is a popular street food from Surat and my favourite also.i made surti locho in my way I hope everyone like this.

 

For Locho : –

1 cup Chana Dal –

1/4 cup Urad Dal –

1/4 cup Poha –

3/4 cup Dahi –

Salt to taste –

1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder

– 2 tbsp Ginger & Green Chilli Paste –

Maggi masala a magic

Pinch of Hing –

1 tbsp Oil – –

1 tsp Eno –

Water as per desired consistency – Melted Butter –

1/4 cup Green Garlic finely chopped –

Sev for garnish

Maggie masala a magic

– For Locho Masala :

1 tsp Jeera Powder –

1 tsp Pepper Powder

1 tsp Salt

1 tsp Sanchar ( Kala Namak )

1 tsp Chaat Masala –

1 tsp Red Chilli Powder

Method : –

Combine all ingredients of locho masala and keep aside.

– Grind chana dal , urad dal and poha into a coarse powder – Whisk in dahi and salt , rest for 10 mins – Meanwhile place a greased dhokla plate in a steamer and let it heat for 10mins – Now add in haldi , ginger chilli paste , hing , oil, maggi masala a magic and water till you get a runny batter – Lastly add in eno and transfer into the greased container – Steam on high flame for 7-10mins ( do not overcook ) – While hot , drizzle some butter on top , sprinkle locho masala , garnish with green garlic , sev , cheese and serve hot with chutney & onions.
